I am inspired by many things – remote places and people, natural histories, folklore, and music, to name a few. As an artist, I am drawn to intersections: between popular culture and fine art, digital and traditional media, and the natural and technical worlds. Although my work spans a wide range of media, my central goal is to make art that documents and reflects on these transitional spaces (both geographical and metaphorical), and to pay attention to the evolving and disappearing worlds of the 21st century.
Early in my career, I started with a foundation in painting, drawing, printmaking, and other traditional processes. However, I quickly became fascinated with exploring the relationship traditional and digital processes after taking up new work in video, animation, and digital illustration. This interest has led me to create unique types of work that explore the boundaries between these areas. In addition to my fine art, I have developed a niche of graphic design work for gig posters, album artwork, and other projects derived from my love of music.
